The synchronization settings for Video Input Device
The Syncher allow SMODE to re-sync the video input feed that are not gen-locked and or with a bad phase. In most of the case, it does all of the sync automatically.
When the sync is active you will see the sync arrow alongside the Frame rate of the device:
The auto syncher automatically determine the offset to apply to each frame to be perfectly synchronized in time. You can visualize that everything works well by looking at the Sync Ratio parameter.
If a problem occurs, it is highly recommended to monitor it thanks the
Phase Wizard
Check “manual Setting” if you really want to try to synchronized those video stream. Refers to the
Phase Wizard
to help you in this task.
Variables:
- Syncher: Can be Frame Accurate or Un-synchronized
- Producer Stats: Stats of the producers of video signal
- Consumer Stats: Stats of the consumer (your SMODE server) of the video signal
- Sync Ratio: It need to be a ration of 1/1,1/2 or 2/1, this means that your video input is frame accurate. If it some other ratio SMODE can’t re-sync them, the devices is considered Un-synchronized
